Hannibal Regional Hospital has been awarded a “Grow Your Own” grant from the Missouri Hospital Association. The grant of $50,000 will be used to increase recruitment, retention, and continued education of nurses while increasing job satisfaction and clinical outcomes. At Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, Grow Your Own funds will be used to engage leadership, nurses and higher education partners in offering new and innovative educational opportunities and mentorships which will serve to strengthen the education nurses receive before being employed, when initially employed, and throughout employment.
“The Grow Your Own Grant is being used to seed an Education Liaison program that we are excited to begin,” said Susan Wathen, Vice-President Human Resources, Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. “This program will offer opportunities for our Nursing staff to achieve additional development and will strengthen the relationship Hannibal Regional Healthcare System has with area colleges and universities.”
