Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation – Kickin’ Cancer

Hannibal Regional Hospital Foundation hosted the 3rd Annual Kickin’ Cancer Kickball Tournament at Bear Creek Sports Park on Saturday, October 5 beginning at 8 am. The Riedel Foundation was the Homerun Sponsor of the event, while many volunteers assisted throughout the day.

Best Dressed Kickball team

The Kickin’ Cancer event was designed to raise awareness of the fight against all forms of cancer as well as assist those who are currently fighting against cancer. Kickball teams competed in a double elimination tournament to vie for the traveling trophy. One Heel of a Team from Palmyra again gained the 1st place trophy, while HRH Radiology took home the Best Dressed for the 2nd year in a row. Many teams paid tribute to family and friends fighting cancer. Although there was a light rain at one time, the teams had a great time and enjoyed many laughs for a great cause.

Kickin Cancer Tournament Winners

All proceeds from the Kickin’ Cancer Kickball Tournament benefit the James E. Cary Cancer Center’s Life.Light.Hope.Fund, which offers cancer patients assistance with transportation, nutritional supplements and other resources needed as they fight against cancer. Additional funds are used to assist families and patients with equipment and resources they need which can offer them hope and help when they need it most.

Wendy Harrington, HRHF CEO/President stated, “We always look forward to the Kickin’ Cancer Kickball Tournament because the teams have so much fun and really enjoy a day that is directly assisting our local cancer patients. A special thanks to all our volunteers that help with the event, our sponsors including the Riedel Foundation, as well as Bear Creek Sports Complex for use of the facilities. Also, thanks to all our teams who continue to support this great event. We look forward to next year!”
