Project Community Connect was held at the Admiral Coontz Armory on October 19th, 2017 with over 175 participants who were served by 61 vendors. They provided over 2,000 individual services including but not limited to: haircuts, skin cancer, foot, hearing, dental, glucose, cholesterol and general health screenings; (27) photo ID’s and/or driver’s license renewals (offered transportation during the day to/from DMV); (20) Missouri and out of state birth certificates; Veterans Commission services; eyeglass repair for 42 individuals; mental health screenings/info to 100 individuals; lunch to over 175 participants; over 150 hygiene kits and food bags; assisted with deposits and/or past-due utility bills, housing up to 10 individuals. Family pictures were added to the list of services this year, which the participants enjoyed very much!
These important services don’t happen on their own, Amanda Wosman and her PCC team were assisted by over 100 volunteers – many of whom were our very own Hannibal Regional team members. This was the third year for the event, which has become essential in Hannibal to help our community members work to better themselves and their families. Thanks to all who participated this year, and if you would like to help with next year’s event contact Amanda at 629-3346.
