Trista Long, RN, MBA, ON-C, received her DNP from Chamberlain College of Nursing. The DNP is a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with her specialty being in Systems Leadership. In our complex healthcare system, it is vital that we have nurses prepared to lead intra- and inter- professional teams, make evidence-based practice changes and to be a mentor and role model to other nurses aspiring to lead and change healthcare. Through Trista’s education, she feels she is “more prepared to translate knowledge into practice and enhance patient-driven care at the bedside where care is delivered.”
Trista said that obtaining her terminal degree has been a lifelong personal goal, explaining that, “I am proud to be a part of the nursing profession and I simply want to be able to provide the best possible care for my patients. My education is only one way that I can do that.” Thank you for being a great example of hard work and determination and congratulations on achieving your goal, Trista!
