Melissa Reynolds, AGPCNP, will be working through Hannibal Regional Medical Group, alongside Dr. Venkata Kada, to provide care for patients in local nursing homes. Melissa completed her BSN in 2008 from Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing and then started working for Hannibal Regional Hospital on the medical-surgical floor from 2008-2010. In 2010-2012 she worked as a registered nurse in Queensway Carleton Hospital in Canada. In 2012 Melissa came back to Hannibal Regional to work in the Home Health department and during that time attended Walden University to receive her Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner degree in 2015.
“The majority of my nursing career has been spent working with the elderly,” explains Melissa, “and I really enjoy working with this group of patients. To me, it felt like a natural transition to proceed with my nurse practitioner career focused on the adult and geriatric population. I feel sometimes this group can be overlooked, and they present their own set of needs and challenges. It is rewarding to me that I am investing my time daily to help these patients with their health.”
